Local Area Communication Networks Business

Business summary

The Local Area Communication Networks Business started with the commencement of Phase II of the Tokyo International Airport Offshore Development Project in 1993. The project aims to prepare a basic communication network that can be shared by airline companies, terminal building companies, government offices, etc. to reduce cost through sharing and realize seamless means of mutual communication among relevant organizations, and to promote smooth information exchange with outside the airport. Optical cables and metal cables are laid between buildings within Haneda Airport, except for certain areas, and the network is provided for shared communication (telephone) and exclusive line services.

Shared communication (telephone) service
High-quality audio data can be transmitted by installing a large-sized private branch exchange (PBX) in the new aircraft maintenance area and connecting the remote local traffic managers (LTM) installed in major buildings, such as terminal buildings, with optical cable. Also, because the subscriber lines are all handled as an extension line within the airport, telephone communications between subscribers are free of charge.
Shared communication (telephone) service

Exclusive line service
Optical and metal cables laid between the major buildings within Haneda Airport are provided as a means for transmitting voice, image, data, etc. Because it is an occupancy line in the closed network within the airport, it is possible to construct a high-quality network that is unaffected by other traffic.
